The new processor of waiter of AMD asserts the reduction of 13% of the request for power.
AMD recently announced the release of the new processor of 40W Opteron EE which will represent the lowest power loop x86 for processors of waiter of core of quadruple in the range of AMD.
The processor, which offers the saving of power of 13% in the punt power--level compared with the former generation, is conceived for the very dense environments of datacentre, specifically those found in the calculation of cloud. It also offers to consumers a full continuation of the possibilities of management of virtualisation and power.
The 45nm Opteron EE adds significant improvements of effectiveness of power above Quadruple-Core AMD Opteron IT processor in the same platform, asserting a reduction of 13% of punt power--level. To the same level of the performances, the new processor of the EE delivers up to 62% improved execution-by-Watt once compared with the former generation.
HE and the EE are conceived to reduce the load of power required by the majority of the processors of waiter while always providing the same execution. In the test with AMD a platform of waiter 2P with processors of the EE idled to 115W and only to blow 185W to any power.
Such an execution in large datacenters would reduce costs of the current considerably.
